Here is a press conference roundup of everything that was happening after the game with quotes from Paul Chryst and some of the players.
- Head coach Paul Chryst on Quintez Cephus and his impact on the team, since he has returned.
“I don’t think that anything he’s done has surprised us, but I am impressed, I mean he went through a lot, everyone did and he certainly,” said Chryst. “He gives us a great energy on the field, there is a reason why the lineman absolutely love and appreciate him, every down, in the first game a couple of those screens that we hit, he was a big part of that and you saw a little bit different of what I think that he gives.
“He missed a year playing with a group that he loves and a game that he loves, when you get back, there’s a spirit about him that we would all be crazy not to see and appreciate.”
- Jonathan Taylor on what Quintez Cephus has shown the team since he returned to the team.
“One thing he showed us, he was able to come back and he’s even better than the Quintez Cephus he was before, that just shows the type of work ethic he has throught the entire time (he was gone), he was working and he came in and didn’t miss a beat at all.”
I'd say #87's teammates were very pleased for him. pic.twitter.com/84IvxD2tKE

- Quintez Cephus, on being back with Wisconsin.
“It was amazing, just getting back to playing in Camp Randall, was a special moment for me.”
- Cephus on what it’s felt like to get support through the last two years.
“It’s very very special, I have gone through a lot and just taking it all in, can be overwhelming sometimes, but my teammates help me a lot with that.”
- Zack Baun on posting back-to-back shut outs to start the season.
“You love to see the zero on the scoreboard,” Baun said. “That is the goal every week keeping our opponents to as minimal as we can, whether that’s stopping the run stopping the pass, or even keeping a zero on the scoreboard. You love to see that.”
- Jack Coan on the way the team has been playing this season.
“It definitely feels good when you’re playing like that, I feel like just the whole offense and the defense are just clicking, guys are making really good plays, so it’s a lot of fun to be a part of it.”
- Jonathan Taylor on Wisconsin’s offense airing it out more.
“You’re always happy to see the guys makes plays out on the perimeter. Love seeing Q, love seeing Danny (Danny Davis III), KP (Kendric Pryor) and AJ (A.J. Taylor), love seeing those guys make plays, those are big chunk yardage plays too,” said Taylor. “So that gets the sideline going and it gets everyone going, so when we get a momentum shift like that, good things can happen.”
- And just as an FYI...
QB Graham Mertz on the potential for redshirting: "They said that really to use those four (games) would be pretty sweet. I am redshirting. So it’s more just getting my opportunity in those four games to develop."
