GAME THREAD: Wisconsin vs. Central Michigan

Home opener for the Badgers LET’S GOOOOOOOO!

NCAA Football: Wisconsin at South Florida Douglas DeFelice-USA TODAY Sports

The home opener is upon us! The No. 17 Wisconsin Badgers host the Central Michigan Chippewas at Camp Randall Stadium this afternoon and this will serve as the open thread to discuss it.

Star running back Jonathan Taylor will be looking to pad his already impressive Heisman Trophy resume against a rushing defense that only allowed 45 yards, admittedly against FCS Albany, on the ground in their first game. Quarterback Jack Coan will try and hit one (1) deep ball today so that everyone cuts him so slack this week and the defense will want to get in the face of Chips senior signal caller Quinten Dormady early and often.

CMU is feeling confident and has been talking about it all week. Obviously a team shouldn’t go into a game expecting to lose, but maybe when you go 1-11 a year ago and your first win this year is against a middling FCS team you keep your thoughts to yourself.

Bold strategy, let’s see how it plays out for them.

Here are the staff predictions for the game:

Bob: 63-3, Wisconsin

Ryan: 52-0, Wisconsin

Owen: 52-10, Wisconsin

Matt: 49-14, Wisconsin

Neal: 45-10, Wisconsin

Rock: 51-10, Wisconsin

Drew: 54-7, Wisconsin

Kevin: 41-7, Wisconsin

Welp, that’s a clean sweep for the Badgers. What are your predictions for the game? How long does Central Michigan keep it close for? Can they score more than USF? Let us know in the comments.

As always, we’ll have some posts up for you after the game to discuss everything that happened as well as a few posts on Sunday as you ease into Week 1 of the NFL.
