The home opener is upon us! The No. 17 Wisconsin Badgers host the Central Michigan Chippewas at Camp Randall Stadium this afternoon and this will serve as the open thread to discuss it.
Star running back Jonathan Taylor will be looking to pad his already impressive Heisman Trophy resume against a rushing defense that only allowed 45 yards, admittedly against FCS Albany, on the ground in their first game. Quarterback Jack Coan will try and hit one (1) deep ball today so that everyone cuts him so slack this week and the defense will want to get in the face of Chips senior signal caller Quinten Dormady early and often.
CMU is feeling confident and has been talking about it all week. Obviously a team shouldn’t go into a game expecting to lose, but maybe when you go 1-11 a year ago and your first win this year is against a middling FCS team you keep your thoughts to yourself.
