Greg Gard and the Wisconsin Badgers basketball team received more good news on Sunday night. 2021 247 Composite 4-star PF Matthew Mors (Yankton, S.D.) verbally committed to the team after officially visiting Madison for the Northwestern football game, the second member of the 2021 class to do so.
2021 Matthew Mors (@sdattack) will be on an official visit this weekend to the University of Wisconsin. Mors is the number #1 ranked player in the state of South Dakota. #RLHoops

Mors had been considered a strong Wisconsin lean for some time, and assistant coach Joe Krabbenhoft, himself a South Dakota native, had been recruiting Mors hard for years and now Mors is in the fold.
The 6-foot-7 and 220 pound high school junior held offers from Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Creighton, Iowa State, TCU and some smaller South Dakota schools. Rated as the No. 104 player in the country by 247 Sports and the No. 119 player by Rivals, Mors is the highest rated member of the Badgers 2021 class.
I am extremely proud to announce my commitment to further my academic and athletic career at the University of Wisconsin! #OnWisconsin pic.twitter.com/pAxyg2Leh0

He has been traveling a lot this summer attending various camps and tournaments with his high school teammates and his AAU team (SD Attack), but Wisconsin always seemed to be the place he was going to end up.
The 2018-19 Gatorade Player of the Year in South Dakota, Mors averaged 22.7 points per game, 7.7 boards per game, four assists and two steals per game during his sophomore campaign (his fourth at the varsity level, mind you).
Mors joins big man Chris Hodges (Schaumburg, Ill.) in the 2021 class that is now looking pretty stacked in the front court. Gard and co. also added a point guard to the mix with Chucky Hepburn announcing he was committing on Sunday as well.
Here are some of his highlights from a Wisconsin Advanced Camp last summer.
And here is one from the this summer.
We will have more on this commitment in the coming days.
