It was a great weekend of college football around the country, but the biggest win went to the Wisconsin Badgers after a 35-14 blowout of the Michigan Wolverines. The Badgers received a nice leap in the AP and Coaches Poll, as well as in SB Nation’s FanPulse rankings. In the national FanPulse Poll the Badgers landed at No. 8, just two spots behind the Big Ten’s highest rated team in Ohio State.
Among the Wisconsin fans polled, the Badgers came in just one spot higher at No. 7. The only real difference in the Wisconsin poll vs. the national poll was that the Badgers were one spot ahead of the Auburn Tigers after their impressive win over Texas A&M. Badger fans also rated Ohio State over Oklahoma in the 5/6 spots.
Other Big Ten teams remained positioned in the FanPulse Poll as Penn State held strong at No. 12, and the Iowa Hawkeyes jumped to No. 15. The Michigan schools now sit back to back in the FanPulse rankings as Michigan State moved to No. 17 while the Michigan Wolverines had a big plummet to No.18.
Speaking of Michigan, the Wolverines were a main focal point in this week’s fan question. The question asked was which team do you feel is the most overrated in the country? This is the only thing the Wolverines won this weekend, as Harbaugh and company led the vote by a huge margin.
60% of the fans polled picked Michigan, with the second closest being Florida with 14%. It’s safe to say that much of the county is low on Michigan after their performance.

That mark is unfortunate for the Badgers as despite the domination of a top-15 team, it appears that much of the focus is on the lack of competence from Michigan, and not the dominating effort from Wisconsin. Badgers fans are used to that, but it will be interesting to see how the Wolverines season plays out. As a Badger fan you have to be hoping they continue to win to help boost the Badgers resume.
Go Wolverines, IMO.
Lastly, fans again rated their confidence in the direction of their respective programs. Thankfully, Badger fans appear to be all in agreement this week as it appears there was a slight uptick from last week’s 98% confidence rating. I would hope that after three weeks of dominating football that the Badgers fans would have the utmost confidence going into Week 5.
