After heading into week one against South Florida at most full strength, the Wisconsin Badgers have a few more injuries going into their Week 2 matchup with the Central Michigan Chippewas.
A couple starters from last week are listed as out for Central Michigan (Green-May, Bruss, Nelson). Paul Chryst will speak in about 10 minutes. It will be interesting to see what he has to say about their status. pic.twitter.com/Vfvspfhd84

Zander Neuville is a newcomer to the injury list, after recently making his way to the roster after being granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA. He has been rehabbing from a left leg injury sustained last year, but he could be a big boost when he does return to game action with Luke Benzschawel still out with a right leg injury suffered during fall camp. Freshman Jack Eschenbach will continue to act as the second tight end with both in-line options out.
Also on the offense, Logan Bruss started at right tackle in the opener, but he is listed as out heading into the second week. In his place according to the depth chart released today will be David Moorman or Tyler Beach. Both players saw time against South Florida, and did well at the position in fall camp.
On the defensive side of the ball Izayah Green-May will miss the game against Central Michigan due to a right arm injury. The sophomore exited fall camp as the starter opposite Zack Baun, and was able to get a sack in the season opener. Behind him on the depth chart is Noah Burks who ran with the first team during the spring, and he played a significant number of snaps in the first game as well.
Zack Baun told the media today that both Burks, Jaylan Franklin and Tyler Johnson are all getting reps at that position though and could see time. The redshirt freshman Franklin is a tremendous athlete who recorded his first sack against South Florida.
It will be interesting to see if the Wisconsin defense continues to run with three safeties in their nickel package with Scott Nelson not at free safety against CMU.

In the secondary, sophomore free safety Scott Nelson will also miss the game against the Chippewas. Junior Eric Burrell will likely get the start after intercepting a pass off of Blake Barnett last Friday. He has played a lot of snaps for Wisconsin, so the drop off from Nelson should not be too significant with Burrell’s experience.
The only question mark heading into Saturday’s matchup will be the health of Chris Orr. He was injured in the game on Friday and missed most of the second half. Behind him both Mike Maskalunas and Leo Chenal played a lot of snaps in the opener, with Maskalunas leading the team in tackles. Both players will likely see time if Orr is unable to go, and I think it is safe to assume that Chenal will not redshirt this season barring an injury of his own.
Chryst on the depth at inside linebacker: Good to get those snaps to "build" the depth with Sanborn, Maskalunas, Chenal being young.

Bucky’s 5th Quarter will continue to monitor and update fans on the injury status of the team heading into their 2:30 p.m. matchup with CMU on Saturday.
