The preseason AP Poll was released yesterday afternoon, and today the AP All-American list was released. Two familiar faces received preseason accolades for the first team awards. Jonathan Taylor and Tyler Biadasz were named to the first team. Taylor is no stranger to this list, as he was named to the second team All American list in 2017, and followed that up with a first team All American bid in 2018. It should come as no surprise to the Badger faithful that JT finds himself on the preseason list once again in 2019.

Joining the Badgers Doak Walker Award winner is another familiar face in center Tyler Biadasz who helped pave the way in Taylor’s incredible 2018 season. Biadasz received high praise last fall and started all 13 games at the center position. His incredible season landed him on the first team All-B1G team a year ago. He’ll look to follow that up this year and make the next step up in 2019.
Preseason accolades are great, but I know both JT and Biadasz aren’t too concerned with those awards. Obviously it’s a tremendous honor for them, but both are focused on making sure their name is on there at the end of season as well. With the talent they have, I’d bet that they will be come January.
A few other notable Big Ten players joined the two Badgers on this list as well. Ben Bredeson was named to the first team list at tackle for Michigan. Rondale Moore of Purdue was named to the first team at the all-purpose position. On defense Chase Young of Ohio State and A.J. Epenesa received first team honors on the defensive line. Joe Bachie of Michigan State also made the first team at linebacker.
