Good morning! This is going to be a daily(ish) post that discusses the goings on of the rest of the Big Ten Conference, and the country as needed. Much like the European Union, the Big Ten is a loosely confederated group of entities that sometimes have the same goals (like free movement of people between countries or not winning national titles in football or basketball) and sometimes accept new members that they later regret (Estonia or Rutgers).
We hope that you will use this post to comment on things happening around the conference and also as a sort of daily open thread to discuss breaking news or argue about Spotted Cow.
- The Badgers men’s basketball team added the first member of their 2021 recruiting class on Thursday evening.
- Wisconsin women’s soccer star Victoria Pickett was singled out by the official NCAA soccer account as a “player to ::eye emoji:: out for” so, that’s pretty cool.

- The BTN crew continued their roadtrip and were in Madison on Thursday to take in practice with the likes of local luminaries Jake Kocorowski and Matt Belz. They came away impressed with the quarterback play!
QB situation at Wisconsin appears to be much better than a year ago. As has been mentioned, Coan has separated - but Mertz is uber-talented, and Chase Wolf has looked sharp today too. In a really good spot.

- YOU’RE DAMN RIGHT HE THROWS A NICE BALL, DAVE!
QB Graham Mertz has put together some strong moments the last two practices. A stellar three-play sequence in two-minute drills yesterday with a 40-yard TD. A 49-yard TD to Jack Dunn and a beautiful 35-yard dart to Aron Cruickshank today.

- New blog idea! We take Izayah Green-May out to all the different wing spots in town and he rates them!
Has to drink water and Gatorade “like a water buffalo” . He‘s also unintentionally dropped 10 lbs (!) overnight before, so he keeps a healthy dose of Wingstop in his diet. https://t.co/QsYA6KxHlF

- Maybe Melvin Gordon should just stop playing football and become a professional tweeter. He’s really good at that dumb app.
Lmfaoo fam lay off the bench press and work on the signature will ya https://t.co/O0z5TfqR0X

- Americans and Canadians, but all Badgers, are scoring regularly in the U-22 series in Lake Placid.
ICYMI, #Badgers @sophieshirley8 scored last night for @HC_Women in the opening game of the U-22 series!

- Another cool film breakdown of the Badgers, this time of the offense, by the gang over at The Daily Stampede.
- The Optimist’s Guide to Iowa Football.
- One of the two guys competing for the starting RT spot on Michigan’s offensive line will miss some time. Their depth chart seems like it can handle it.
- Ohio State is out here trademarking words and making up new positions! When will the madness stop?!?!
- Wisconsin travels the eighth furthest for football this year amongst B1G schools.
- I answered some questions for our neighbors to the west and the commenters at The Daily Gopher said I was funny. Shit, am I becoming a Minnesotan? I haven’t even lived here that long!
