B5Q Blogopean Union: we are shouting about uniforms

The Badgers should just pretend they are a European soccer team and make their “third jersey” green or something.

Good morning! This is going to be a daily(ish) post that discusses the goings on of the rest of the Big Ten Conference, and the country as needed. Much like the European Union, the Big Ten is a loosely confederated group of entities that sometimes have the same goals (like free movement of people between countries or not winning national titles in football or basketball) and sometimes accept new members that they later regret (Estonia or Rutgers).

We hope that you will use this post to comment on things happening around the conference and also as a sort of daily open thread to discuss breaking news or argue about Spotted Cow.

People seemed...divided on the issue of “are the jerseys flames or nah.” I think if there were to be a vote, fans liked them more than they didn’t like them, but I’m not a data scientist. Tbqh, I thought Maryland’s alternate jersey that they announced was the best of the bunch.

The Badgers have had some wild alternate jerseys in the past. Do you remember any of these?

Those Starter jerseys from 1995 are SPEAKING to 10-year old me!

  • The preseason AVCA Coaches Top-25 Poll for women’s volleyball came out on Tuesday afternoon. The B1G was well represented, to say the least, with three teams in the top-5.

This season we have hired a dedicated volleyball writer, Matt Rock, who will be attending a few games and keeping all of us informed about how the Badgers are doing. Speaking of which! If you want to come and write about basketball (and other sports too) click here!

  • Hockey season will be here before you know it and I think the Badgers may finally make the Kohl Center a tough place to play again.
  • The women’s hockey team is tough to play in any arena on any planet.
  • A quick Badgers in the NFL roundup:
  • Badgers basketball legend Kirk Penney is joining up with the defending national champs.
  • We (read: I) missed this from last week, but the men’s soccer team is “receiving votes” in the preseason top-25 poll.

JUST LOOK AT HOW DUMB AND ALSO FIERCE HE LOOKS! IT IS AMAZING!!!

A Ohio state university is the worst.
