Big Ten Media Days are just around the corner for each of the 14 teams in the conference. The event will be held at the Hilton Chicago July 18th and 19th. The event will feature each head coach as well as 43 student athletes from across the conference, including the 2018 Ameche-Dayne Running Back of the Year award winner. Any guesses on who that is?
Jonathan Taylor will be one Wisconsin’s attendees after back to back incredible seasons for the Badgers. In 2017, Taylor broke out as a star early on, rushing for 1,977 yards and 13 touchdowns. Taylor followed that up with a 2018 season where he racked up 2,194 yards and 16 touchdowns and took home a hefty amount of awards, including the Doak Walker which is given to the best running back in the nation.
Tyler Biadasz will also be in attendance after a strong 2018 at the center position of Wisconsin’s dominating offensive line. Biadasz will be the anchor to a fresh group of guys around him. Biadasz was a consensus First Team All Big Ten player a season ago, and was rated as the nation’s top center by Pro Football Focus in 2018. In many circles across the NFL, Biadasz is a projected first round pick at next year’s draft.
The defense will also be represented for Wisconsin as senior Chris Orr will make the trip to Chicago with his teammates. Orr has played in 36 games over the course of his career as a Badger, starting 16 of them. Orr played in all 13 games a season ago, but should see more snaps in 2019 due to graduation and NFL Draft departures. Orr started in the Badgers Pinstripe Bowl victory where he recorded an impressive eight tackles and an interception.
The event should be a fun time in Chicago, and it should spur the feeling of football season being right around the corner. There will be tons over coverage of the event on the Big Ten Network and of course here at Bucky’s Fifth Quarter. I will be on site, so I will shamelessly plug my Twitter @TylerLHunt should you want to follow along there as well.
