According to a report by 247Sports and tweeted out by Evan Flood, true freshman linebacker Skyler Meyers is entering the transfer portal. The 3-star outside linebacker is from Blue Springs, Missouri and it is not yet known why he is transferring.

Meyers was a 247Composite 3-star outside linebacker coming out of high school and was ranked as the 74th best at his position. He had received offers from a number of different schools, including Army, Navy, Air Force, Wyoming, Colorado State and a slew of FCS schools.

Meyers announced his commitment to Wisconsin on November 4th, 2018 and signed his letter of intent on early signing day with the rest of the 2019 class.

More recently, Jesse Temple wrote a profile on Meyers for The Athletic ($) that noted what a tough, physical presence Meyers was going to be for the Badgers.

There is not much information out there currently about why Meyers is transferring but we here at Bucky’s 5th Quarter wish him the best and hope he finds a new landing spot that suits him. We will update this post as more news comes out.
