The Wisconsin Badgers received their second linebacker verbal commitment in as many days when 3-star LB Malik Reed (Chandler, Arizona) announced on Tuesday morning that he plans on attending school in Madison. Reed joins Jordan Turner and Nick Herbig as linebackers that visited Madison on June 7th and are now planning on spending their next three to five years there.

Reed is a 6’2” and 220 lbs. linebacker ranked as 3-star on the 247 Composite list and held offers from Arizona, Nebraska, UCLA, Colorado, Indiana, Purdue, Washington State, Oregon State and Yale. He also received interest from Southern Cal and Texas according to his Rivals profile.
After visiting Wisconsin he took official visits to Arizona and Nebraska in consecutive weekends but apparently saw all he needed to see when he got home from Lincoln because he called the Badgers on Monday night and told them he wanted to play in Madison.
My minds made up .

The 41st ranked OLB from Arizona is probably going to be slotted in as an ILB at Wisconsin when he arrives on campus joining Turner and Herbig in the linebacker room. Reed has a verified 40-yard dash time of 4.71 and a shuttle time of 4.46 and looks to have a good amount of athleticism to boot if you take a look at his highlight video.
The Badgers now have 11 hard commits for the 2020 recruiting class and sit at 30th in the 247Sports rankings and 32nd in the Rivals rankings. Wisconsin still has an offer on the table for 247Composite 4-star LB, and Minneapolis, Minnesota native, Kaden Johnson who just finished his official visit over the weekend. If Wisconsin is able to secure a commitment from Johnson, this already good linebacker class will turn into a great one.
