Acker, from Verona, Wis., is the second player to commit to the class of 2021.

There was a lot of attention on the 2020 recruiting class this past weekend, but the 2021 class improved as the Badgers landed Verona (Wis.) running back Jackson Acker on Sunday evening. The Verona Area standout attended Wisconsin’s camp and committed just hours after receiving his scholarship offer from the Wisconsin coaching staff, according to 247 Sports.

Acker is the second hard commit for the class of 2021. He joins Grafton, Wis. offensive linemen JP Benzschawel, currently listed as the #2 player in Wisconsin, who committed to the Badgers in early February. Acker is not currently ranked by the various recruiting outlets, but did receive all-area aonorable mention after his sophomore season at Verona.

When it isn’t football season, Acker can be found dominating for the Verona track and field team. This past spring he set a Verona sophomore record in the discus and also helped his team win the Spartan Invitational, an annual event held by Madison Memorial. He also runs on the 400-meter relay team and the individual 100-meter dash.

With a commitment out of the way early, Acker can sit back and focus on football over the course of the next two seasons. While Acker may not be ranked on the various recruiting sites yet, I have a good amount of trust in the staff who tend to land some prettyyyy good running backs. See Montee Ball, James White, Melvin Gordon, oh and that Jonathan Taylor guy? Decent company. To see some highlights of Acker for yourself check out his Hudl highlight video below.
