The Wisconsin State Journal’s Jason Galloway joins mei to talk your ear off with almost 35 minutes’ worth of spring football analysis. Wisconsin allowed media to watch just over half of the 15 practices, and we discuss a variety of topics that will lead up to fall camp in late summer.
Here’s the full breakdown:
- Spring ball questions! Main positions of concern; player(s) that stood out the most during spring camp; the most improved player from fall camp to now; thoughts on the four true freshman early enrollees, and the biggest potential revelation that we saw in these sessions.
- Fall camp predictions! We try to project who the starting five offensive linemen heading into late summer will be; who’s in contention for cornerback reps and the nickel back spot; who will man the backup nose tackle position behind Bryson Williams; and lastly, who battles for reps at quarterback between Jack Coan, Graham Mertz, Chase Wolf and Danny Vanden Boom in those practices leading up to the 2019 season opener?!?!
- From player availability on April 26, after Wisconsin’s last spring practice, outside linebacker Izayah Green-May talks about his growth as a player, working in the nickel package with Zack Baun and what he hopes to accomplish between now and fall camp.
- Lastly, some housekeeping items—Wisconsin forward Taylor Currie reportedly transferring and former Badger tight end Kyle Penniston finding a new home in the Big Ten Conference!
