This Memorial Day weekend, some good news came from a couple of former Wisconsin Badgers.
On Sunday, former Wisconsin walk-on turned NFL Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt and professional soccer player Kealia Ohai announced their engagement via social media.
Ohai plays for the Houston Dash of the National Women’s Soccer League, while Watt continues to be the face of the Houston Texans. Below are a couple of posts from the happy couple celebrating their big news.
Josh Gasser ties the knot
Earlier this weekend, former Wisconsin basketball guard Josh Gasser said his vows and married his girlfriend, Alex. Based on the photos, many former Badgers like Sam Dekker, Frank Kaminsky, Duje Dukan and Ben Brust, among others, returned to Madison for the occasion. Below are more photos and social media posts of the big day.
Former UW wrestler Eric Bugenhagen lifts ... a lot
The WWE held its Performance Center combine this past weekend and even though B5Q doesn’t normally cover pro wrestling we thought this was noteworthy. For those that don’t know, former in-state prep and UW wrestler Eric Bugenhagen actually wrestles for WWE’s NXT brand and participated in this event on Sunday.
He, uh, deadlifted a lot of weight.
I just watched @metalHAGEN deadlift 760 pounds.— Steve Mager (@StevenAMager) May 26, 2019
ON A TOTALLY RECONSTRUCTED KNEE.
Superhuman. The mental fortitude to even believe that’s possible after such significant damage is next level.
Check the comments on his Instagram post, and he notes years prior that he deadlifted, uh, 910 pounds?
