Nash Hutmacher, Malik Reed among 2020 prospects officially visiting Wisconsin this summer

Let’s take a look at who B5Q confirmed’s coming, and who else is being reported.

NCAA Football: Brigham Young at Wisconsin Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

As the Wisconsin Badgers conclude their spring practices on late Friday afternoon, the team will kick up its fall camp until late summer.

That means only one thing: RECRUITING SZN HEATS UP!

Official visits from recruits have already started, as four-star 2020 defensive lineman Rylie Mills took in Wisconsin’s open practice and more the weekend of April 12. For the upcoming summer months in June, the Badgers will host more recruits from this current recruiting cycle in hopes of landing their collegiate services.

With that, the following prep standouts have either been reported to, or have confirmed with B5Q that they will, officially visit Wisconsin in June.

OL/DL Nash Hutmacher

Both Rivals and 247Sports report on their profiles of the Chamberlain, S.D., native that the lineman will visit Wisconsin on June 7. B5Q confirmed with Hutmacher on Wednesday afternoon that he will indeed be in town for an official visit that weekend.

247Sports lists him as a four-star offensive lineman (standalone rankings, 247Sports Composite says high three-star), while Rivals designates him as a three-star defensive tackle.

Both recruiting sites already note an official visit to Nebraska by Hutmacher in April, so this could give Wisconsin an opportunity to really make an impression on the standout football player and prep wrestler.

Rivals lists six offers for Hutmacher, with Oregon, Iowa State, Missouri and South Dakota State joining the Huskers and Badgers.

Also, uh, Hutmacher can lift:

OLB Malik Reed

Both Rivals and 247Sports report the Chandler, Ariz., product will visit Wisconsin the weekend on June 7, and B5Q confirmed with the projected three-star outside linebacker on Wednesday that he will be in town then on an official visit.

According to Rivals, he holds seven offers, including from Nebraska, UCLA, Arizona, Indiana and Washington State.

WR Daniel Jackson

Both Rivals and 247Sports report in their respective profiles that the Shawnee Mission, Kan. (Bishop Miege), native will officially visit on the weekend of June 14 (B5Q has reached out to Jackson to confirm). 247Sports and ESPN rate him as a four-star recruit, Rivals a high three-star prospect.

According to both recruiting services, Jackson holds 10 offers from programs like Notre Dame, Kansas, Minnesota, Arizona State, Texas A&M and Missouri.

There is a connection here to Wisconsin, as Jackson played with true freshman quarterback Graham Mertz when the latter went to Bishop Miege early on in his prep days.

RB/ATH DeaMonte Trayanum

Both 247Sports and Rivals report the Akron, Ohio (Archbishop Hoban) product will visit on the weekend of June 7. The teammate of 2019 Wisconsin fullback signee Quan Easterling has received 16 offers to this point, according to Rivals—including a few Big Ten programs in Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State.

247Sports rates him as a four-star prospect, while Rivals designates him as a three-star recruit.

OLB Kalel Mullings

A four-star outside linebacker by 247Sports and Rivals, both recruiting services report Mullings will visit on the weekend of June 7 (B5Q has reached out to confirm). Rivals designates him as the No. 87 player in the country, while 247Sports composite lists him as the No. 108 player and No. 6 outside ‘backer in the nation.

The Boston, Ma. (Milton Academy), native holds 27 offers according to Rivals, 26 per 247Sports. Boston College, Clemson, Michigan, Penn State, Stanford, Notre Dame and Ohio State all have presented opportunities to Mullings to play at the next level.

LB Nick Herbig

Both Rivals and 247Sports’ profile of the Honolulu, Hawaii (St. Louis School) notes a visit of June 7 for the outside linebacker prospect—something Badger247’s Evan Flood appears to have reported in a late Wednesday morning article ($). Both recruiting services project him at that position at the next level. The former rates him as a four-star recruit, the latter a three-star.

247Sports’ composite rankings rate him as the No. 278 player overall and the No. 23 outside linebacker in the country. That recruiting service reports 16 offers, Rivals says 14, for Herbig. Cal, Stanford, Oklahoma, UCLA, USC and Washington all have extended opportunities to play at the college level.

WR Jalen Paxton

Both 247Sports and Rivals report on their profiles of Paxton that the Texas native will visit on the weekend of June 14. Both recruiting services designate him as a three-star wide out with five offers (among them Wisconsin and Indiana) standing out.
