The No. 8 Wisconsin Badgers (10-3, 7-3 B1G) couldn’t hang on to a multiple-score lead as No. 1 Ohio State (13-0, 10-0 B1G) used a big second half surge to win the B1G Championship Game, 34-21.

With the loss, Wisconsin fell to 2-4 in the B1G Championship Game, having lost their last four appearances, with three of those loses coming against Ohio State.

Ohio State improved to 4-1 in the B1G Championship game, having won its last four.

Just as in Wisconsin’s win over Minnesota, Wisconsin elected to receive the opening kick and then opened the game with a completion from Jack Coan, to Quintez Cephus. This time, the pair combined for 27 yards.

The pair would connect seven times in the game, with Cephus tallying a game-high 122 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Coan passed for 232 yards in the game.

Four plays later, Jonathan Taylor was off to the races on a 44-yard touchdown run, putting Wisconsin on the board first.

Taylor rushed for 148 yards in the game which is a new career-high against the Buckeyes, as he had never passed the century mark against Ohio State.

That was when the Wisconsin defense took over. They stopped Ohio State on three straight drives, including a failed fourth down conversion, a punt and a fumble by Justin Fields, which came a couple plays following a fake punt pass that converted a first down for Ohio State.

Meanwhile, Wisconsin went up 14-0, putting Ohio State in its biggest deficit of the season.

Wisconsin’s second scoring drive was propelled by a fourth-and-four conversion, on a Danny Davis reverse. This was Wisconsin’s fourteenth fourth down conversion this season, in 16 attempts this season.

Coan capped off the 14-play, 80-yard scoring drive, with a 14-yard touchdown run that came off of a fake hand off to Taylor.

On the following drive, Ohio State got on the board for the first time in the game when J.K. Dobbins scored from two yards out.

Dobbins would finish the game with 33 carries for 172 rushing yards.

Wisconsin then got a 45-yard rush by Taylor and a 24-yard reception by Cephus, putting Wisconsin on the one-yard line. Coan would finish it off from there with a one-yard QB sneak.

All-in-all, Wisconsin scoring drive took four plays, 75 yards and lasted only 32 seconds.

Ohio State scored on its opening drive in the second half and finished the game on a 27-0 run.

In the earlier matchup of these two teams, Ohio State ended the game scoring 28 unanswered points.

Just as in their earlier matchup, the Wisconsin offense disappeared in the second half of the B1G Championship Game.

Wisconsin ended the second half with 294 total yards and then only managed 131 yards of total offense in the second half.

Taylor alone, only rushed for 13 yards in the second half.

Ohio State’s run started with a Jeremy Ruckert touchdown reception, which was setup by a Chris Olave 50-yard reception.

Ohio State then got a 27-yard field goal from Blake Haubeil after Badger punter Anthony Lotti lost control of the ball before punting it away, giving the Buckeyes the ball on the Wisconsin 16-yard-line.

Wisconsin nearly answered the Haubeil field goal with one of its own, but Zach Hintze could not connect on a 48-yard field goal, missing to the left.

Following the Hintze miss, Ohio State went on a 7-play, 69-yard drive that ended with a K.J. Hill Jr. 16-yard touchdown pass from Fields.

Fields would then find Hill Jr once again on Ohio State’s following drive.

Fields had 172 of his 299 passing yards in the second half and 106 in the third quarter alone.

Haubeil would later add a 24-yard field goal to put Ohio State up by 13.

Following the Haubeil field goal, Wisconsin had just over four and a half minutes left to work with to try and begin a comeback.

Wisconsin was then forced into a fourth-and-two, but Taylor was stopped for a six-yard-loss, ending any chance of Wisconsin coming back in the game.

Following an Ohio State punt, Wisconsin had a final chance to add points and was able to move into scoring position, but Coan was taken down at the three-yard-line to finish the game.
