GAME THREAD: Wisconsin vs. Iowa

The managers lost the Rusty Toolbox Friday night...it’s time to get revenge. TROPHY SZN STARTS NOW!!!!!!!!!

NCAA Football: Wisconsin at Iowa Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports

The Heartland Trophy is on the line today. Since 2010, the No. 13 (CFP) Wisconsin Badgers (6-2 overall, 3-2 B1G) have only lost once to the No. 18 Iowa Hawkeyes (6-2 overall, 3-2 B1G) and that was because Joel Stave tripped over his offensive lineman’s foot on the goal line and...you know what? We aren’t getting into that today. I’m sorry for even bringing it up. That’s on me.

The Badgers, coming off a bye week, are on a two-game losing streak that includes a predictable loss at Ohio State and a wildly unpredictable loss at Illinois. The Hawkeyes, on the other hand, are also coming off a bye week but are on a two-game winning streak having sneaked past Purdue and shut out Northwestern.

When Iowa and Wisconsin play in football it often a tough, low scoring game and this iteration should be no different. Iowa has the third best scoring defense in the conference and the Badgers have the fourth best one. Oh, I’m sorry, those are also their ranks in the whole country. This game is going to be awful to watch, I just know it.

Here are the staff predictions for the game:

Bob: 17-10, Iowa

Ryan: 31-10, Wisconsin

Tyler: 24-17, Wisconsin

Owen: 21-13, Wisconsin

Belz: 20-10, Wisconsin

Neal: 17-13, Wisconsin

Rock: 24-6, Wisconsin

Drew: 21-10, Wisconsin

Kevin: 27-24, Wisconsin

Last time out, most of us predicted that Ohio State would beat the Badgers but no one got the score even remotely close. Nevertheless! This week, only Bob has a “bad feeling about this.” He sent us the Luke Skywalker GIF and everything.

What are your predictions? Do the Badgers win close? Do they cover the spread? Does Rock, who has been sick, make it until the end of the game? Let us know in the comments!
