Wisconsin holds at No. 17 in SB Nation’s FanPulse poll

Where do the Badgers and Big Ten rank according to the fans? Find out here.

It’s been a long two weeks away from Wisconsin football but thankfully the Badgers return to action this week against the Iowa Hawkeyes at glorious Camp Randall Stadium. With the Badgers being off again this past Saturday, they were able to hold strong at No. 17 in the latest FanPulse poll.

Additionally, much of the rankings stayed the same as a lot of the big teams in college football were off this past weekend. Top rated LSU was off as was No. 2 ranked Alabama and No. 3 ranked Ohio State. Clemson was basically off as well as they took on FCS Wofford and won the game, well, handily.

While there was little action from the top teams this past weekend, that should change this Saturday as there are many crucial match ups across the country. As previously mentioned the Badgers will take on Iowa who is not currently ranked in the FanPulse Poll, but received a good portion of votes.

No. 5 Penn State also headlines this weekends group of games as they travel to no. 13 Minnesota for a crucial match up where Badger fans will have a heavy interest as they chase the Gophers. Regionally, there will be a lot of focus on that game but nationally the attention will likely lie in Tuscaloosa as LSU and Alabama square off in the biggest game of the year thus far.

Due to that huge matchup, this week’s fan question was what game fans were most looking forward to this weekend. Unsurprisingly, LSU/Alabama was the overwhelming favorite getting 69.2% (nice). Penn State and Minnesota received a respectable amount as well garnering 19% of the vote. Iowa and Wisconsin were lower on the totem pole as they received just 3.7%.

In addition to that question, fan question was also measured this week. Surprisingly 79% of Badger fans said they were confident in the direction of the program which is a big jump up from the polls after the Ohio State game.

Basketball confidence was also measured, with 72% of the fans appearing confident in the program going into the season. It also worth noting that Indiana fans have a 42.9% confidence in the Hoosiers heading into hoops season. You hate to see it!

Make sure to sign up for FanPulse and let your voice be heard as the football season winds down! If you are a basketball fan you should sign up now too because with the season starting in, oh, a few hours, FanPulse will also be tracking college hoops confidence and have a fan generated poll.
