Plus: so many football awards; so many volleyball awards; and Michigan State lost in basketball again.

Good morning! This is going to be a daily(ish) post that discusses the goings on of the rest of the Big Ten Conference, and the country as needed. Much like the European Union, the Big Ten is a loosely confederated group of entities that sometimes have the same goals (like free movement of people between countries or not winning national titles in football or basketball) and sometimes accept new members that they later regret (Estonia or Rutgers).

We hope that you will use this post to comment on things happening around the conference and also as a sort of daily open thread to discuss breaking news or argue about Spotted Cow.

  • It’s always nice to see one of your offensive linemen make national teams of the week.
  • It is awards finalist szn and the Badgers are well represented:
  • More important than individual honors is getting that damn Axe back.
  • The Badgers scored five points after this tweet. Five.
  • The volleyball team is winning weekly awards...again. They are playing really, really well.
  • Kelly Sheffield fired the ol’ crootin cannons on Monday.
  • No, not nice, Minnesota. Not nice at all!

B1G basketball scoreboard from this weekend (losses in bold because we are here to laugh at misfortune):

Northwestern 78 - Bradley 51
Indiana 88 - La. Tech 75
Nebraska 82 - Washington State 71
No. 10 Ohio State 71 - Kent State 52
No. 3 Michigan State 66 - Virginia Tech 71

Glad we could help ease the pain, MSU.
