The Wisconsin Badgers (8-2 overall, 5-2 B1G) took a small step forward Sunday afternoon in both the AP and coaches’ top-25 polls following a 37-21 victory over the Nebraska Cornhuskers (4-6 overall, 2-5 B1G).
Wisconsin moved up one spot, jumping No. 16 Auburn (7-3 overall, 4-3 SEC) which fell from the No. 13 spot after a loss to No. 4 Georgia (9-1 overall, 6-1 SEC).
Notable teams in front of Wisconsin are No. 11 Minnesota (9-1 overall, 6-1 B1G) and No. 12 Michigan (8-2 overall, 5-2 B1G). Wisconsin beat Michigan 35-14 earlier in the season and will finish up regular season play against Minnesota in two weeks.

Differences between AP and coaches’ polls
- Oklahoma (9-1 overall, 6-1 Big 12) and Utah (9-1 overall, 6-1 Pac-12) are flip-flopped at No. 7 and No. 8. Oklahoma is No. 7 in the coaches’ poll, and Utah is No. 7 in the AP poll.
- Appalachian State (9-1 overall, 5-1 Sun Belt) and Oklahoma State (7-3 overall, 4-3 Big 12) are also flip-flopped at No. 22 and No. 23. Appalachian State is No. 22 in the coaches’ poll, and Oklahoma State is No. 22 in the AP poll.
- San Diego State (8-2 overall, 5-2 Mountain West) rejoins the coaches’ poll at No. 25 while Virginia Tech (7-3 overall, 4-2 ACC) makes its first appearance in the AP poll at No. 25.
