The No. 13/15 (CFP/AP) Wisconsin Badgers (7-2 overall, 4-2 B1G) are coming off their first victory in weeks and have some bad injury news already. After beating the No. 18/23 Iowa Hawkeyes (6-3 overall, 3-3 B1G) to retain the Heartland Trophy on Saturday, the Badgers are turning their focus to the Nebraska Cornhuskers (4-5 overall, 2-4 B1G) and the Freedom Trophy.

After an empty injury report to start last week, the Week 12 report contains two players, including one starter. CB Semar Melvin was added to the injury report last week on Thursday, and he remains questionable, but the new addition is NT Bryson Williams.

Williams, a Lincoln, Nebraska native, was hurt during the Iowa game and did not return once he injured his leg. This is the second time this season that Williams will miss time with a leg injury.

Williams is still listed as the starting NT, but true freshman Keeanu Benton will get the nod this weekend against the Cornhuskers.

The “OR” has been removed at the starting guard spots as David Moorman and Jason Erdmann have solidified their positions. A new “OR” has been added at one of the starting DE spots, however. Sophomore walk-on Matt Henningsen, who had a sack against Iowa, has been having an outstanding season and is now listed as co-start with junior Garrett Rand.

We will update this post on Thursday when head coach Paul Chryst speaks to the media again and see if Melvin’s status has changed or if anyone else is added to the report.

UPDATE: Thursday, 1:41 p.m. CT

Semar Melvin is now officially out for the second straight week, but nothing new to note is always good news!
