The No. 6 Wisconsin Badgers (6-0 overall, 3-0 B1G) are on the road for the first time in a month and a half to play the Illinois Fighting Illini (2-4 overall, 0-3 B1G) on their homecoming at Memorial Stadium.
Illinois has lost four in a row after starting the season 2-0 and the fans are getting restless with head coach Lovie Smith. The Illini have question marks at quarterback and, well, most of the defense but still feature tailback Reggie Corbin who is liable to take it the distance any time he touches the ball.
Bottom line is this: Illinois is not very good. The Badgers are very good. As long as Wisconsin isn’t completely looking ahead to next weekend’s date with Ohio State this game should be over halfway through the third quarter.
Here are the staff predictions for the game:
Bob: 42-0, Wisconsin
Ryan: 38-0, Wisconsin
Tyler: 42-10, Wisconsin
Owen: 48-14, Wisconsin
Belz: 52-10, Wisconsin
Neal: 45-3, Wisconsin
Rock: 42-0, Wisconsin
Drew: 48-2, Wisconsin
Kevin: 41-3, Wisconsin
Welp, I don’t think we’ve had anyone pick Wisconsin’s opponent all year...which would also leave all of us tied for first place at 6-0 in this season’s picks. STILL THE SMARTEST BLOG ON THE INTERNET, BABYYYY!
Bob actually ranked all of us through the first half of the season and to prove there was no bias in his system, he is in last place. Owen, Ryan and Tyler are your top-three, so maybe listen to them. I’m really hoping my call for Illinois to score only a safety really rockets me up the rankings.
Not a crazy amount of good college football on, in terms of ranked vs. ranked games, but Michigan vs. Penn State will be worth checking out. The Wisconsin volleyball team plays Northwestern on BTN+ at 7 p.m. and the men’s hockey team plays Minnesota Duluth again on FOX Sports Wisconsin at the same time.
