Good morning! This is going to be a daily(ish) post that discusses the goings on of the rest of the Big Ten Conference, and the country as needed. Much like the European Union, the Big Ten is a loosely confederated group of entities that sometimes have the same goals (like free movement of people between countries or not winning national titles in football or basketball) and sometimes accept new members that they later regret (Estonia or Rutgers).
We hope that you will use this post to comment on things happening around the conference and also as a sort of daily open thread to discuss breaking news or argue about Spotted Cow.
- Jaylan Franklin out here trying to finesse some more playing time from his defensive coordinator.

- Dana Rettke has been spiking balls in people’s faces for so long I assumed she was in med school.

No Patty Kaz winner had ever transferred after winning the award. Daryl Watts is used to setting precedents. She talks about her future with @badgerwhockey in this week's DI women's column https://t.co/kjfB9f6Dn0

- You may have heard that Badgers forward Micah Potter will have to sit out until the end of the first semester this year because the NCAA is competent. Here are some reactions.
Ohio State transfer Micah Potter denied waiver by NCAA to play first semester at Wisconsin. Baffling. Kid is a really good student who didn’t play at all last season. Stayed at Ohio State until semester ended to remain on graduation track, and then left for Madison in December.

What a surprise the NCAA ruling against a Wisconsin player.....all too familiar and an absolute joke
— Duje Dukan (@dujedukan) October 10, 2019
So much for the “student” part. Potter sits out, and just went to school. How crazy of him. So, make him sit even longer. More “athlete welfare.” https://t.co/PsgcfA1GZj

Outrageous! @NCAA https://t.co/Yh8AtXC1Kb

- Brian Ferentz vs. The Man In The Mirror.
- The Badgers are included in a crucial four game stretch that could define the entire season for the Rutgers basketball team.
