The Wisconsin Badgers just finished their 2018 campaign with a 35-3 drubbing of Miami in the Pinstripe Bowl, but alas, those returning to the team are already preparing for next season.
As seen across various UW social media channels, the Badgers started winter conditioning last week—including rising redshirt senior Alex Hornibrook. B5Q confirmed with a UW official on Tuesday that the fifth-year quarerback is participating with the team in winter conditioning.
Jack Coan started in place of Hornibrook in the Pinstripe Bowl win, and head coach Paul Chryst noted on Dec. 20 that Hornibrook practiced for two to three weeks of bowl practices before suffering “reoccurring” symptoms related to a head injury.

Coan, the rising junior quarterback, completed six of 11 passes for 73 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the bowl win.
In nine games in 2018, Hornibrook completed 59.5 percent of his passes for 1,532 yards and 13 touchdowns with 11 interceptions.
Wisconsin already will be without tight end Kyle Penniston for the 2019 season, as a UW official confirmed last week that he is no longer with the program and is in the NCAA’s transfer portal.
