The number of in-state pledges continues to increase for the Wisconsin Badgers’ class of 2020, as Waukesha, Wis. (Catholic Memorial), product Cole Dakovich announced his verbal commitment to the program on Friday.
Currently a three-star recruit by Rivals, Dakovich recently picked up an offer from Wisconsin this past weekend while visiting Madison. Both Rivals and 247Sports list Dakovich as an outside linebacker. The in-state recruit confirmed to B5Q on Friday afternoon that UW offered him as an outside linebacker or a tight end, but also noted that there is some flexibility on that contingent on where the coaching staff sees the best fit.
According to WisSports.net, Dakovich recorded 105 tackles, 18 for loss, along with two sacks and two interceptions last season. He also caught 16 passes for 150 yards with a touchdown for the WIAA Division III champs on way to a WFCA large school all-state honorable mention selection.

Dakovich’s commitment is the second in two days, as Waukesha, Wis. (North), wide receiver Chimere Dike announced his decision to join Wisconsin’s 2020 class on Thursday evening. He is the fifth Wisconsin native to commit in the next recruiting cycle.
Both Dakovich and Dike join fellow in-state standouts—four-star offensive linemen Trey Wedig and Jack Nelson, along with Stratford’s Ben Barten—and St. Charles, Ill. (East), offensive lineman Dylan Barrett in Wisconsin’s class of 2020.
