The Wisconsin Badgers received good news for its 2020 football class on Thursday evening, as Waukesha, Wis. (North), standout Chimere Dike announced his verbal commitment to the program.
Both 247Sports and Rivals rate Dike as a three-star wide receiver. According to WisSports.Net, Dike caught 79 passes for 1,091 yards and 12 touchdowns last season while claiming WFCA large school all-state honors.
Dike’s recruiting process appeared to be gaining more traction in the new year, as he also received an offer from Iowa State on Jan. 10.
Rivals/BadgerBlitz.com’s Jon McNamara and 247Sports’ Evan Flood and Allen Trieu noted Dike visited this past weekend with an apparent “junior day” hosted by UW. Listed at 6’1 and 170 pounds on his Hudl profile, he pulled the trigger on committing relatively quickly as he tweeted the offer from Wisconsin this past Saturday.
Wisconsin now holds five known verbal commitments for the 2020 class. Dike joins three other in-state, all-state standouts—four-star offensive linemen Trey Wedig and Jack Nelson, along with Stratford’s Ben Barten—and St. Charles, Ill. (East), offensive lineman Dylan Barrett.
