The Wisconsin Badgers dropped in one poll but stayed put in another on Sunday after their 45–14 win over New Mexico a day earlier.
Wisconsin (2–0) fell one spot to No. 6 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll while maintaining its No. 6 position in the Amway Coaches Poll.
It is the second consecutive week Wisconsin has dropped in the former, as it initially started off at No. 4 to begin the 2018 season. Ohio State (No. 4), Penn State (up to No. 11 from 13), Michigan (No. 19 from 21), and Michigan State (No. 25, down from 15) are the Big Ten teams also occupying this poll. Maryland and Iowa also received votes from AP writers.
In the coaches poll, the Buckeyes (No. 4), Nittany Lions (No. 10), Wolverines (No. 22), and Spartans (No. 24) still remain, with MSU dropping 11 spots after its late-night loss to Arizona State. As in the AP poll, the Hawkeyes and Terrapins were the other conference teams receiving votes from the “coaches.”
