2020 OL Trey Wedig commits to Wisconsin

Another in-state prospect for the next recruiting cycle

The Wisconsin Badgers received good news on and off the field on Saturday, with the latter coming from the verbal commitment of 2020 in-state offensive lineman Trey Wedig.

Wedig announced his decision on Twitter Saturday afternoon after Wisconsin’s 45–14 win over New Mexico.

247Sports, ESPN, and Rivals list Wedig as a four-star recruit, with 247Sports’ composite rankings designating the Kettle Moraine, Wis., native as the No. 10 offensive tackle in the class and No. 95 player in the nation.

ESPN’s recruiting rankings note him as the No. 88 player and No. 5 offensive tackle, with Rivals listing him as the No. 85 prospect for the 2020 class.

247Sports lists eight offers from schools vying for Wedig’s collegiate services, including Nebraska, Michigan, Notre Dame, and USC.

Wedig is the second known verbal commitment for the class of 2020, with Stoughton’s Jack Nelson making his pledge last year.
