A UW official confirmed to Bucky’s 5th Quarter on Thursday that redshirt sophomore defensive end Keldric Preston is no longer on the team.
Rivals/BadgerBlitz.com’s Jon McNamara first noticed Preston’s name was no longer on the roster on Thursday afternoon.
Looking at Wisconsin’s game notes for last week, Preston was not listed on the roster either.
A 2016 recruit, Preston redshirted his first year as a Badger and only played in one game last season, recording one tackle in the season opener against Utah State.
Preston leaving the team thins the depth at defensive end further, though according to Wisconsin’s participation logs, he did not play in the first four games of the season.
Ten defensive ends are currently on the roster, with redshirt sophomore Isaiahh Loudermilk and redshirt freshman Kayden Lyles listed as first-teamers on Wisconsin’s depth chart. Redshirt freshmen Matt Henningsen and Aaron Vopal are designated as second-team ends.
