Wisconsin represented on AP, USA Today preseason All-America teams

With preseason polls already released for the 2018 season, several Wisconsin Badgers received preseason All-America nods on Tuesday.

Both the Associated Press (AP) and USA Today released their preseason honors, with Wisconsin finding three and four players, respectively, with first-team honors on those lists.

Sophomore running back Jonathan Taylor, redshirt senior right guard Beau Benzschawel and redshirt senior inside linebacker T.J. Edwards claimed high praise with impressive first-team honors.

Redshirt junior David Edwards received accolades on both lists, while redshirt seniors Michael Deiter and Rafael Gaglianone were designated as second-team distinctions on one each.

Here are the Wisconsin representatives on both the AP and USA TODAY preseason All-America teams that were unveiled on Tuesday:

First-team:

  • Running back Jonathan Taylor
  • Guard Beau Benzschawel
  • Inside linebacker T.J. Edwards

Second-team

  • Offensive tackle David Edwards
  • Guard Michael Deiter

USA Today

First-team:

  • Running back Jonathan Taylor

  • Linebacker T.J. Edwards

  • Kicker Rafael Gaglianone
