Wisconsin makes top 5 for 2019 DL Isaiah Gibson

The Ohio native keeps the Badgers among his top teams.

Class of 2019 defensive lineman Isaiah Gibson released his top five schools on Wednesday morning, including Wisconsin among four other programs he is considering.

Kentucky, Michigan State, Minnesota and Purdue also made the cut for Gibson in his announcement.

Gibson visited Wisconsin back on the weekend of June 1, along with two other previously uncommitted recruits in cornerbacks James Williams and athlete Dean Engram. Last month, both Williams and Engram verbally committed to the Badgers.

Rated a three-star recruit by 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals, Gibson also officially visited Minnesota the weekend of June 8 and Purdue the weekend of June 15. Rivals’s profile of the the Ohio native states he will announce his collegiate decision on Sept. 19.

For what it’s worth, 247Sports’ Crystal Ball predictions have swung in Wisconsin’s favor.

Gibson hails from Springfield, Ohio and the same high school as current Wisconsin wide receiver Danny Davis.

The Badgers currently hold 12 verbal commitments for the class of 2019. Wisconsin currently has two defensive linemen verbally pledged for this recruiting cycle in Janesville, Wis. (Craig), product Keeanu Benton and Cornelius, N.C., standout Gio Paez. Uncommitted recruits Etinosa Reuben and Rodas Johnson officially visited UW back on the weekend of June 15.
