With media days beginning for the major conferences and fall camp just around the corner, summer conditioning is wrapping up for many college football programs, including the Wisconsin Badgers.
As the program’s official football Twitter account declared on Tuesday, it is “max out week.” This spring, we saw true freshman nose tackle Bryson Williams squat 550 pounds three times, and last year we saw the now-NFL rookies Leon Jacobs and Natrell Jamerson showcasing their strength before fall camp.
Heading into the 2018 season, redshirt senior safety D’Cota Dixon—already on the Chuck Bednarik Award watch list and an Allstate AFCA Good Hands Team nominee—successfully power cleaned 335 pounds.
That’s ... a lot of weight.
Then there’s redshirt senior running back Chris James and the bench press. He went for a 405-pound personal record and, well, he got that up pretty easily.
May we all also have a successful Max-Out Week.
