On Friday morning,Washington D.C. (Gonzaga) recruit Dean Engram announced via Twitter that he verbally committed to the Wisconsin Badgers.
Rated a three-star prospect by 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals, Engram officially visited Wisconsin this past weekend after unofficially visiting Madison back on March 17.
247Sports notes Engram as a wide receiver and cornerback, with both ESPN and Rivals designating him as an athlete. 247Sports lists 10 offers, with Rivals showing 11 , from Power Five programs Wisconsin, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Missouri, N.C. State, and Boston College, among others.
There is a football pedigree in the latest Wisconsin verbal commit, as Engram is the son of former Penn State and NFL player Bobby Engram. The elder Engram currently is the wide receivers coach for the Baltimore Ravens.
Another official visitor this past weekend, Hollywood, Fla. (Charminade-Madonna) cornerback James Williams, also verbally committed to Wisconsin this week back on Sunday.
Wisconsin now holds ten verbal commitments for the class of 2019, with Engram joining Williams, athlete Leo Chenal, quarterback Graham Mertz, offensive linemen Logan Brown and Joe Tippmann, running back Julius Davis, tight end Hayden Rucci, athlete Marcus Graham and defensive lineman Keeanu Benton.
One 2019 Wisconsin commit with Penn State ties appears to be happy with Engram’s decision:
Keeping the Rucci-Engram legacy going... this time with a W‼️ https://t.co/FgZ6HRbkgV
