2019 CB James Williams commits to Wisconsin

The Florida native gives his verbal pledge to the Badgers.

Hollywood, Fla. (Chaminade Madonna), cornerback James Williams announced via Twitter on Sunday morning that he committed to the Wisconsin Badgers.

247Sports and Rivals both rate Williams—whose Hudl page lists him at 6’0 and 195 pounds with a 4.5-second 40-yard dash—as a three-star recruit. 247Sports composite rankings rates him as the No. 116 cornerback in the nation for the class of 2019.

According to 247Sports, Williams holds 12 offers with opportunities extended from Missouri Nebraska, Ole Miss, Louisville and Florida Atlantic, among others. Rivals lists nine offers for the defensive back from the Sunshine State, which also include Power Five programs Iowa State and N.C. State.

Wisconsin now holds nine verbal commitments for the class of 2019, with Williams joining athlete Leo Chenal, quarterback Graham Mertz, offensive linemen Logan Brown and Joe Tippmann, running back Julius Davis, tight end Hayden Rucci, athlete Marcus Graham and defensive lineman Keeanu Benton.
