While in Madison for the American Family Insurance Championship, an event on the PGA Champions Tour, NBA analyst and basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal stopped by to chat with the Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball team on Friday.
O’Neal, who attended the golf event on Friday at University Ridge Golf Course on the far southwest side of Madison before heading across town to Breese Stevens Field later that night to DJ at a concert headlined by REO Speedwagon, also spoke to the team while also taking pictures with the squad.

From the American Family Championship Instagram account, here’s Shaq making me reminisce about his old “Shaq Diesel” album back from the 1990s:
Here’s some more video of Shaq making his presence felt around the Madison area, courtesy of WMTV’s Julia Cox:
The one and only Shaq announcing players on the 18th. Excellent video quality. I did get a head nod #ThatsHowIBeatShaq pic.twitter.com/AWdeNMIm4O
