Three more official visits are apparently on the way for the Wisconsin Badgers—two from players already committed to the program and one from a promising defensive line target.
According to Rivals/BadgerBlitz.com’s Jon McNamara, 2019 verbal commits Logan Brown and Keeanu Benton will officially visit Wisconsin next weekend.
Brown is rated a five-star recruit, the No. 9 player in the nation and No, 2 offensive tackle in the nation by 247Sports composite rankings. Committing to Wisconsin in November 2017, both 247Sports and Rivals list 18 offers for the highly-touted lineman.
Wisconsin’s most recent verbal pledge, Benton reportedly committed earlier in May. As B5Q noted a few weeks ago:
According to WisSports.net, Benton recorded 52 tackles, six for loss, along with two sacks in nine games last year.
As McNamara also noted, Benton excels not just on the football field, but on the mat in wrestling—finishing this past year as the runner-up to the WIAA Division 1 state championship at 285 pounds.
Wisconsin will also host a few verbal commits the weekend of the 8th, including quarterback Graham Mertz, athlete Marcus Graham and tight end Hayden Rucci. Uncommitted 2019 outside linebacker Spencer Lytle will be in Madison for his official visit as well.
Gio Paez officially visiting on June 15
First reported on May 31 by Evan Flood from 247Sports but also tweeted out by the recruit on Saturday, Cornelius, N.C. (William Amos Hough), defensive lineman Gio Paez is set for his official visit to UW on June 15.
According to 247Sports composite rankings, Paez is a three-star prospect who hails from the same high school as former 2019 Wisconsin commit, wide receiver Nolan Groulx.
On May 11, he tweeted that Wisconsin offered. According to 247Sports, he has 19 offers overall, including N.C. State, Nebraska, Texas A&M and Kentucky.
As seen in B5Q’s official visit tracker, in-state verbal commit Julius Davis, along with Paez, four-star outside linebacker Lance Dixon and cornerback Semar Melvin will reportedly make trips to Madison that weekend.
