Wisconsin makes Top 10 for 2019 S Ishmael Burdine

Graham Mertz gets invited to a(nother) prestigious event, and more B5Qrootin’ news.

We are approaching summer, and with that, high school recruits cutting down and focusing their attention on particular programs that could be their next destination at the collegiate level.

Slidell, La., safety Ishmael Burdine, offered by Wisconsin earlier this spring, announced his Top 10 on Tuesday via Twitter, placing the Badgers among nine other programs. The potential landing spots include Mississippi State, Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Kansas State, Tulane, Arkansas and Virginia.

Wisconsin is the lone Big Ten school currently in the mix for Burdine’s services.

Burdine is rated a three-star safety by 247Sports composite rankings, while also a four-star prospect, No. 203 player overall and No. 12 safety in the nation according to its standalone ratings.

Graham Mertz invited to Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge

The Wisconsin 2019 quarterback commit tweeted on Tuesday that he was officially invited to the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge event, which takes place in late June down in Atlanta.

Mertz will participate in the Elite 11 Finals next weekend, then according to both 247Sports and Rivals will officially visit Wisconsin on June 8.

The consensus four-star quarterback has lit up the camp scene aside from the Elite 11 Finals berth, earning quarterback MVP honors at the Rivals 3-Stripe Camp in Columbus this month while impressing at the U.S. Army National Combine back in January.
