2019 DT Isaiah Gibson sets official visit to Wisconsin

Plus more from the class of 2019.

Another potential Wisconsin Badgers 2019 target set up an official visit this week, as Springfield, Ohio defensive tackle Isaiah Gibson tweeted on Monday that he’ll be in Madison on June 1.

Gibson is rated three-star recruit by both 247Sports and Rivals. and according to the lineman, 23 programs have offered him. That includes Wisconsin and Michigan State last week, with Syracuse offering him on Tuesday.

As we noted late last week, 247Sports lists fellow Big Ten West programs Minnesota and Purdue in the “warm” category in terms of interest, along with Iowa State, Kentucky, West Virginia and UW.

Gibson plays for the same high school as current Wisconsin wide receiver Danny Davis and 2019 safety Moses Douglass. The Badgers also offered Douglass, though the defensive back is currently verbally committed to Kentucky.

Based on B5Q’s official visit tracker below, Gibson’s official—which is his first of five allotted visits of that designation—coincides with other 2019 recruits Michael Fletcher and Dean Engram.

Joe Tippmann offered by Minnesota

The Wisconsin commit, one of two projected offensive linemen in this upcoming class, tweeted on Monday night that he received an offer from rival MInnesota.

According to Rivals, that makes seven scholarship offers for Tippmann. After the lineman told SB Nation’s Bud Elliott two weekends ago that there was not much contact between him and Notre Dame, 247Sports’s Tom Loy reported on May 12 ($) that the Irish visited Tippmann last week.

As seen previously via the players’ tweets, Notre Dame has also offered four-star quarterback Graham Mertz and running back Julius Davis.
