The Jacksonville Jaguars drafted Wisconsin Badgers linebacker Leon Jacobs in the seventh round with the No. 230 overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft on Saturday.
The all-time leader in games played by an FBS player (59), Jacobs selflessly moved around various positions in his time at Wisconsin, going from outside linebacker to inside linebacker, then playing both fullback and later inside linebacker last season. For the 2017 season, he moved back outside and formed an imposing duo with fellow ‘backer Garret Dooley.
In 14 games, Jacobs responded to the move back to his original position with 60 tackles, 9.5 for loss, along with 3.5 sacks and two interceptions on one of the nation’s top defenses.
Jacobs participated in the 2018 East-West Shrine Game back in January along with former teammates Alec James and Natrell Jamerson, then was invited to the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.
