Alex Hornibrook just completed his fourth spring football camp at Wisconsin in anticipation of a potentially huge fall for the Badgers’ offense. On Tuesday night, he showed off another skill set in front of a live audience.
Guitar in hand, Hornibrook performed the Zac Brown Band’s “Chicken Fried” at the 2018 Buckinghams at the Overture Center in downtown Madison.
Billed as the “Student-Athlete Showcase of Excellence,” the event showcases Wisconsin’s student-athletes performing their various talents while also intertwining interviews and honoring achievements.
Watching Hornibrook’s rendition, I definitely have to say I’m impressed by his abilities, as I’m a fan of the song.
The band’s Twitter account chimed in on Wednesday morning, apparently approving the performance.

But wait, a Wisconsin quarterback performing some musical medleys at the Buckinghams? Why does that sound so familiar?
That’s because Joel Stave (AKA the all-time winningest quarterback in UW history) did so a couple of times in the past six years, as seen below.
Other Badger football standouts who have performed include running backs Dare Ogunbowale and Corey Clement.
