Wisconsin Badgers 2019 quarterback commit Graham Mertz claimed yet another honor on Thursday afternoon, receiving an invitation to the prestigious 2018 Elite 11 Finals.
The Elite 11 Finals will held this year from June 1-3. According to its website, the annual event “is intended for top level rising senior quarterbacks” and “will bring together top performers from the the 2018 Elite 11 Regionals to receive advanced, one-on-one quarterback instruction in a highly competitive setting.”
Those picked to become part of the “Elite 11” will participate in The Opening Finals later this year.
Mertz performed at the Opening Regional in Atlanta last weekend, earning praise from 247Sports director of scouting Barton Simmons in labeling him among the standouts at quarterback.
He is the fifth announced prep quarterback to earn an invite to the Elite 11 Finals, joining the likes of national standouts Bo Nix, Grant Gunnell, Spencer Rattler and Ryan Hilinski.
Mertz tweeted on Thursday night about the chance to compete at the event:
