After a hot start to the class of 2019, no real commitment news has surfaced lately for the Wisconsin Badgers, with eight verbal pledges currently
However, a big name commit impressed this past weekend in the South.
As seen above in the tweet by 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong, four-star quarterback Graham Mertz participated in the Opening Regional near the Atlanta.
The Wisconsin verbal commit stood out to Barton Simmons, who listed Mertz in his “More Standouts” section and noted he “may have the most upside of any quarterback on hand.”
In an article from 247Sports, Mertz also spoke with Wiltfong as well ($) about a reported visit to Georgia and his commitment to UW. If you read the article, there really appears to be nothing to worry about (we will not give away any #spoilers because of paywalled #content).
Mertz is ranked as the No. 10 pro-style quarterback in the nation and a four-star prospect by 247Sports composite rankings, as well as a four-star recruit—the No. 243 player overall and No. 6 pro-style quarterback in the country for the class of 2019—by Rivals.
2018 ATH Isaac Guerendo dominates competition in Indiana
Wisconsin definitely recruited some speed for this year’s class of signees, and that includes athlete Isaac Guerendo from Avon, Ind.
This weekend on March 24, Guerendo competed in the Hoosier State Relays in Bloomington, Ind., and judging by Avon’s track and field Twitter account, the future Badger owned much of the competition—including winning the 60-meter dash and long jump titles.
Guerendo's 60m time is the 9th fastest in the nation, while his Long Jump season best is the 32nd leap indoors across the country!
