The Wisconsin Badgers’ men basketball team reportedly has added another member to its class of 2018.
PrepHoops.com’s Scott Burgess reported on Sunday that Illinois point guard Carter Higginbottom committed to Wisconsin as a preferred walk-on. The school’s Twitter account for its basketball team also tweeted the news thereafter.
Higginbottom plays for St. Ignatius in Chicago. Burgess also noted in his article that Higginbottom’s family has connections to UW and the senior guard chose to play for the Badgers over some NCAA Division III and NAIA opportunities.
Wisconsin currently has two players for the class of 2018, forward Taylor Currie and center Joe Hedstrom. Currie already signed his National Letter of Intent to play for the Badgers.
UW honored the likes of forward Aaron Moesch and guards Matt Ferris and T.J. Schlundt on Sunday during Senior Day festivities. All were either current or former walk-ons.
