Another amazing episode of Bucky’s 5th Podcast, and the first of two this week (#content is strong this week).

We continue our position previews with the Wisconsin State Journal’s Jason Galloway (himself a former B5Q contributor) looking at safety with the likes of Natrell Jamerson and Joe Ferguson departing.

In a great and enlightening eight-minute interview, walk-on guard Matt Ferris discusses his Wisconsin career and why he is leaving UW/tackling the “real world” with a year of eligibility left.

Another Wisconsin class of 2019 verbal commit joins the show, as in-state standout Julius Davis from Menomonee Falls talks about his recruiting process and what’s to come.

Here’s the full breakdown of the only Wisconsin-centric podcast to have its own silky saxophone intro song:

  • 0:00–12:00: The Wisconsin State Journal’s Jason Galloway provides a glimpse of what the safety competition could be in the spring as part of our 2018 spring position previews, all in our “Four Down Territory” format. Who steps up with two seniors—Natrell Jamerson and Joe Ferguson—now gone to contribute alongside an all-conference type player like D’Cota Dixon?
  • 12:15–20:35: Walk-on guard Matt Ferris will leave Wisconsin with a year of eligibility to enter the real world. A fantastic discussion with B5Q includes: where the redshirt junior is headed; when he knew he wouldn’t return to Wisconsin; if he has had the opportunity to reflect upon his time in Madison yet
  • 20:51–39:12: Class of 2019 running back Julius Davis hops on for a great conversation about his recruiting process; how he was offered by Wisconsin and how it’s his “dream school;” being offered by LSU and if that changed anything; the bond between the 2019 class and what’s next on his schedule
