Spring football kicks back up in just a few weeks and it appears that some Class of 2019 standouts will be visiting the Wisconsin Badgers.
Rivals.com’s Jon McNamara reported on Monday that Mentor, Ohio, defensive end Noah Potter will visit Wisconsin on March 17. The three recruiting services—247Sports, ESPN, and Rivals—all rate Potter as a four-star player. Rivals lists him as the No. 185 player, 247Sports’ composite the No. 229 (standalone at No. 226), and ESPN the No. 250 in the nation.
According to those services, Potter does not have an offer from Wisconsin, though Rivals states the standout defensive lineman received scholarship opportunities from the likes of Ohio State, Georgia, Michigan, Penn State, and Oregon, among others.
Last week, McNamara also reported that Roswell, Ga. (Blessed Trinity) athlete Steele Chambers will visit Wisconsin March 4-5. Chambers is a four-star prospect per 247Sports’ composite rankings and by ESPN, who rates him as the No. 248 player in the class of 2019.
The offer list is stacked for the Georgia native, with Wisconsin, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Penn State, among many others, vying for Chambers’s services.
According to Chambers’s junior highlight film, he ran for 1,545 yards on 198 carries with 25 touchdowns while recording 70 tackles, five sacks, and four forced fumbles on defense.
According to Rivals’ Adam Friedman, it also looks like four-star defensive back Litchfield Ajavon will visit the Badgers in March. Read more here ($).
Like Potter, all three recruiting services rate the Alexandria, Va. (Episcopal) safety as a four-star recruit. Rivals lists him as the No. 79 player and No. 5 safety in the country, with 247Sports composite ranking him as the No. 115 player in the country (No. 122 in its standalone rankings).
2019 QB Graham Mertz offered by Alabama
#MertzOfferWatchSzn is still upon us, as four-star Wisconsin verbal commit, quarterback Graham Mertz announced on Monday night that Alabama—yes that defending national champion Alabama—had offered him.

— Graham Mertz (@GrahamMertz5) February 20, 2018
In February alone, Mertz has picked up offers from the Crimson Tide, Miami, Iowa, LSU, Oklahoma State, and Arizona State. Throw in Georgia, Ohio State, and Michigan, and it is quite the list for the Kansas native.
Again, this is a B5Q PSA for the following:
- Do not tweet at recruits no matter what they decide, as they are trying to figure out what is best for their life and future.
- There have been no public inclinations of any wavering on Mertz’s part, so again, do not worry about this (we have to report this, so, boom).
