Wisconsin volleyball survived and advanced.
The No. 6 overall seed Badgers (25–6) swept San Diego (18–13) in Urbana-Champaign on Friday 25–13, 25–16, 25–10 to advance to the Elite Eight.
Wisconsin lit up the scoreboard, hitting .500 or better in every set. Sophomore middle blocker Dana Rettke led the Badgers with nine kills. Sophomore outside hitter Grace Loberg had eight digs. Senior middle blocker Tionna Williams registered her 500th career block.

Wisconsin faces off against No. 3 overall seed Illinois on Saturday, guaranteeing the Big Ten at least one spot in the Final Four next weekend in Minneapolis. The match against the Illini kicks off at 3 p.m. Saturday in Urbana-Champaign.
