Another inside linebacker from the state of Illinois will come to Madison to play for the Badgers. Coming from the same high school as current Wisconsin ‘backer Mike Maskalunas, Maema Njongmeta was offered in October and committed to UW in early November in a very quick courtship.
Besides Maskalunas, Njongmeta adds to the list of those playing the position from the Land of Lincoln which includes All-American T.J. Edwards and former four-star standout Jack Sanborn.

Offered by Wisconsin on Oct. 30 then visiting UW the Saturday thereafter, Njongmeta wrapped up his recruiting process quickly by pledging to the Badgers after a home win against Rutgers.
Njongmeta started a huge run of verbal scholarship commits in a span of a week that included wide receiver Stephan Bracey, defensive lineman Rodas Johnson, and outside linebacker Skyler Meyers.
He confirmed with B5Q that he would take his official visit the weekend of Dec. 7, one that included Bracey and future commits Quan Easterling and Titus Toler.
According to 247Sports, Njongmeta held 19 offers, including from Iowa State, Army, Navy, and Northern Illinois, among others. He also told B5Q in November that he also received a walk-on opportunity with Stanford.
