RB | 5'11 | 190 | Menomonee Falls, Wis. | Three-star; No. 33 RB in the nation |
One of the running back commits for the Badgers this cycle is Wisconsin native Julius Davis. Davis suffered a reported lower-body injury early in his senior season and was only able to play in three games this past year. According to WisSports.net, he still averaged over 10 yards per carry (607 yards total) and scored seven times. During his junior year, the speedy tailback rushed for 1,762 yards on 257 carries (6.9 yards per attempt) with 17 touchdowns.
An important part of any running back’s game in the B1G is gaining yards between the tackles and I think y’all will enjoy this quote that Davis gave Jake back in March:
“I love contact,” Davis said. “My coaches try to tell me you don’t need to take on six guys at one time, but I guess that’s why I love this sport, because I can get in as much contact as I want, and it’s legal. I’m going to work on trying to put more moves on people because not everyone is going to be smaller than me. There’s always going to be someone bigger, so I’m going to have to work on making them miss, but I think I’d overall be a very physical running back.”
Let’s get this kid on campus and let him start running dudes over!

Davis was the fourth commit in the 2019 class for Wisconsin and as such he played a critical role in recruiting other players to come join him in Madison.

Davis is one of those classic underexposed recruits that Wisconsin tends to get in on first and then bigger name schools come calling. Thankfully Davis liked Wisconsin so much he couldn’t be swayed by offers from some of the sports’ blue bloods.
According to 247Sports, Davis also fielded offers from LSU, Notre Dame, USC and Buffalo. Not too shabby for a kid from Menomonee Falls!
