Wisconsin headed back to South Florida to find another defensive back to add to its program in this recruiting cycle ... not just one, but two.

Semar Melvin comes from Florida powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas and joins some former Badgers like James White, Dez Southward and Dontye Carriere-Williams who have made the journey north to play at UW from that prep program.

Melvin and fellow cornerback James Williams both hail from the South Florida area.

At the time, Melvin became the No. 12 verbal commit for Wisconsin during a very busy June recruiting period. He officially visited on the weekend of June 15-17, which included future teammates Julius Davis, Leo Chenal, Gio Paez and Rodas Johnson.

According to 247Sports, Melvin held 18 offers from such programs like Wisconsin, Virginia, Boston College, Kentucky, North Carolina, N.C. State, Oklahoma, Purdue, UCF and Mississippi State, among others.
