2019 TE/DE Tate Grass commits to Wisconsin as walk-on

That’s four known walk-on commits for the 2019 class.

Yet another in-state standout will come to Wisconsin as a walk-on. Holmen, Wis., native Nate Grass announced on Wednesday night that he committed to the Badgers.

B5Q confirmed with Grass on late Wednesday night that it is a walk-on opportunity, which was first reported by 247Sports’s Evan Flood.

Grass led Holmen in receptions (20) and receiving yards (325 yards) and also recorded a touchdown this season on offense, according to WisSports.net. Defensively, he recorded 35 tackles and also led the team in tackles for loss (14) and sacks (10).

Grass’s Hudl profile lists him at 6’3, 215 pounds. At the 2018 WFCA Combine earlier this year, he ran a 4.64-second 40-yard dash and was measured at 6’2.5, 206.9 pounds.

Wisconsin now holds four publicly-known walk-on commits for this class, receiving two in less than a week. On Saturday, Sussex, Wis. (Hamilton) athlete Jackson Kollath announced his intention to walk on at UW, with specialists Blake Wilcox (kicker/punter) and Peter Bowden (long snapper) also declaring their commitments to the Badgers earlier this year.
